Dr. Nuzum's Two Week Detox: Cleansing Cocktail Recipe

Dr. Nuzum recommends integrating a cleansing cocktail into your daily routine while going through his 2 Week Detox Program. The cleansing cocktail aids in keeping you hydrated, balancing your body’s pH, and acts as a natural antibiotic.

The cleansing cocktail consists of four simple ingredients that greatly benefit your body’s systems and aids in gentle detoxification. The cocktail is meant to be drank before each meal throughout the day.

To prepare the cocktail combine the following:

  • 1 cup distilled or reverse osmosis water
  • 1 tsp. organic lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. raw organic apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp. raw organic honey

If the taste is not suitable to your palate, you may add ¾ cup of cold press organic apple juice. The cocktail will have the same effects whether drank warm or chilled. However, we do not recommend making your cocktail scorching hot or ice cold. Avoid adding boiling water to raw honey; it will kill the beneficial properties of this natural ingredient. Ice cold water is shocking to your system, making your body work harder to absorb the available nutrients.

Although the active ingredients are simple, they are potent and activating to your system. Choose only the highest quality of ingredients to assist you in your detox.

Water

Avoid using your city’s tap water due to the number of pathogens, hormones and cleansing agents that are often found in it. Opt for bottled, distilled water or reverse osmosis water to nourish and hydrate your body in the purest way possible.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is high in vitamin C, which supports a healthy immune system. It helps to thin the bile coming from the liver. It also has astringent properties that reduces swelling in the liver. Choose organic, fresh lemons for your cocktail for the highest availability of nutrients.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar balances the body’s pH, it aids in electrolyte balance, enhances intestines, neutralizes acid waste and normalizes acid alkaline balance. Purchase raw, organic apple cider vinegar. Dr. Nuzum recommends the Bragg’s brand of unfiltered vinegar that is bottled with “the mother”. This can be found at your local health food store.

Honey

Honey is a natural antibiotic that contains small doses of local pollen, which enhances the immune system’s tolerance to local pollens and aids in alleviating allergies. If it is available to you, use raw local honey purchased from a beekeeper located near you. It can often be found at local farmer’s markets or specialty food stores. Honey also provides a number of different vitamins, minerals and cofactors.
