Anytime is an ideal time to reevaluate your overall health and renewal. Taking the time to practice some self-care and doing a seasonal detox is the greatest gift to give yourself. Please note that detoxing is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women.

No matter which season is upon us, are you ready to take it on full force? If it happens to be spring/summer time you are aware that with it comes warm weather clothes and the swimsuit season. In the fall and winter season, many tend to put on a few extra pounds, wishing they could lose that extra. Here at Dr. Nuzum’s Nutraceuticals, we can assist you in detoxing in a gentle way.

Detoxification removes many toxins that cause imbalances throughout our bodies and is about cleaning and clearing the natural detoxification pathways so our bodies can remove contaminants effectively. Food

Evaluate the kind of food you are eating to nourish your body. Choose organic, non-GMO, and local ingredients whenever available. Remove processed foods from your diet as much as possible. Water

While detoxing, try your best to avoid drinking unfiltered tap water. Dr. Nuzum recommends pH balanced, distilled, or reverse osmosis water, free of heavy metals and potentially harmful pathogens. Staying hydrated is extremely important to aid in the evacuation of toxins from your body and lubricates your digestive tract and allows for freedom of movement in your kidneys, liver, gallbladder, and colon as they work through the detox process.


Elimination of toxins in your environment

To help protect your body from reabsorption of toxins during your detox process, spring clean your home of any potential toxins as well. Remove any chemical household cleaners and replace them with gentle, natural cleaning agents such as vinegar and baking soda. Common household items, such as plasticware, release chemicals like BPA that are harmful to our endocrine system. Consider replacing plastic containers, cups, and plates with glassware to remove the potential harm of BPA from your home. Consider getting a home air purifier or at least a quality air filter in your heating and cooling system.


Colon cleansing

If toxins cannot properly evacuate your body, a detox program can be more harmful than beneficial.
